R.: Hello David and thank you for your valuable participation here. Could you tell us where you live and your birth year?
D.: I live in Florida, USA, and was born 1964. Abito in Florida, USA, e sono nato nel 1964
R.: How long have you been following Queen?

R.: Please describe us how you managed to get to the show, and what were your feelings that day and your excitement as Freddie entered the stage. Tell us something about that wonderful day.
D.: My neighbor Blaine was old enough to drive and had a car as I was only 14 at the time. I purchased his ticket in exchange for the 200 mile trip from our home to the gig in south Florida (ticket price in 1978: $7.50 USD…hard to believe with today’s prices LOL). I believe Kansas was the opening act. We were seated in the upper tier. Back in those days, you never really knew what to expect since there was no mass media, Internet, and only 3 TV channels. You learned about bands through LP liner notes, rock magazines, etc. I had never seen so many lights, amps, equipment, or crew anywhere. As a fledgling musician, it was mind-blowing. When the band hit the stage, it was so loud it made your whole body vibrate. Freddie was dressed in his harlequin tights and ballet slippers with a black leather jacket over top. They went into a fast-version We Will Rock You, then Let Me Entertain You, and the place went nuts. Freddie then stepped to the foot of the stage, champagne glass in hand, and addressed the crowd (this was the moment I realized Freddie was probably gay. It didn’t matter to me, but in 1970’s, America, it was rather shocking). The sound, energy, and power the band generated was second to none. Brian May, of course, was a standout, but I was also amazed with Roger’s vocal prowess and the way John Deacon held the band together. This was on the first leg of the Jazz tour I believe. Suffice it to say, it was a mind-blowing experience for a 14 year old kid. Il mio vicino Blaine era abbastanza grande da poter guidare e aveva una macchina, io all’epoca avevo 14 anni invece. D.: Incredible.
R.: How you would describe Freddie Mercury, now, 25 years after his passing? What has he left to you?
D.: Freddie was, and is, IMHO, the most important artist since Mozart given the total scope of his creative abilities. Queen provided the perfect storm of talent to allow these abilities to flouish and leave us all with an incalculable legacy that will never be forgotten. Thr strength he displayed in makling music almost to the day he died is an incredible inspiration and a reminder that anything is possible in life if you go for it without fear. Secondo me, Freddie era e rimane il più importante artista mai apparso dopo Mozart, se consideriamo la portata delle sue abilità creative. R.: Do you consider Queen still alive as a group today? Or do you think they are no longer a band after that November 1991?
D.: I respect what Brian and Roger are doing to keep the band’s legacy alive for new generations, and I think Adam Lambert is great. Of course, it will never be the same, but the show must go on… Rispetto quanto Brian e Roger stanno facendo per mantenere viva la loro eredità per le future generazioni, e credo che Adam Lambert sia fortissimo.
